Mrinalini Singha

Assistant Professor of Immersive Arts and Technologies

University of Bristol Mumbai

Mrinalini Singha is a creative technologist, researcher, and Assistant Professor of Immersive Arts and Technologies at the University of Bristol Mumbai. Her work explores immersive experiences, physical interfaces, and AI-enabled systems, with a focus on how real-time computation and interaction design shape public and cultural experience.

She works across industry and research contexts. She previously led creative technology R&D at Kulfi Collective in Mumbai, and worked at Deeplocal and Hyperquake in the US, developing interactive experiences for organisations including Meta, Google, Illumina, Wendy's, and Swiggy.

She holds an MS in Art, Culture and Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.Des from the National Institute of Design. Her work has been presented and published at venues including ACM CHI, NeurIPS, Ars Electronica, the MIT Museum, and ISEA.

She has been a Ford Foundation Research Fellow at NID, a Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing (SERC) Scholar at the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, and an MIT DesignX Fellow.

Her current work focuses on pedagogical and research approaches to immersive systems and experience ecosystems.
